Living Together in Green

Equipped with a hoe, spade, gardening scissors, broom, protective gloves, as well as some hope and faith that the good intentions and human efforts will lead to a positive change in the deserted garden, we started the second project initiated by the Capital Municipality called “Green Sofia”. Read about our first project here.

Work began with clearing up the area and after just half an hour five huge bags had been filled with litter. The lovely garden with its green grass areas, pine trees and lush bushes is definitely not the right place to host all this rubbish.

After that, the petrol chainsaw and the mower were put into operation. Thorns and branches could easily be removed and the two heaps of green forest waste were growing fast. It goes without saying that the waste would be moved to the future compost site.

After sticking hoes into the hard, almost stony earth, the first flowerbeds were taking shape. Then the area was cleaned and the initial outlines of the lawns were made visible again. Now it was time for a short break including a slice of pizza and a cup of tea before going back to work with new energy and strength.

The children showed their commitment with their own tools in their own territory: a pile of sand where they enjoy playing.

At around five o’clock in the afternoon we removed all our traces and left the place, looking forward to the next Sunday and some new surprises. Everyone is cordially welcome to join us!

Ein Park wird neu belebt (Projekt “Grünes Sofia”)

Ausgerüstet mit Hacke, Spaten, Gartenschere, Besen, Arbeitshandschuhen und der Hoffnung und Zuversicht, dass wir mit Einsatz und gutem Willen eine Verschönerung des verlassenen Gartens bewirken könnten, machten wir uns auf zu unserem zweiten Projekt im Rahmen von „Grünes Sofia“, einem Umweltprojekt der Stadtverwaltung von Sofia. Mehr über unser erstes Projekt.

Die Arbeiten begannen damit, das Gelände frei zu räumen und nur eine halbe Stunde später waren fünf große Säcke mit Abfall gefüllt. Der schöne Garten mit seinen grünen Grasflächen, den Pinien und den üppigen Sträuchern ist sicherlich nicht der richtige Ort für all den Müll.

Anschließend wurden eine Kettensäge und eine Mähmaschine in Betrieb genommen. Dornen und Zweige ließen sich leicht damit entfernen, und die beiden Haufen mit grünem Abfall wuchsen schnell in die Höhe. Es versteht sich von selbst, dass dieser Abfall dann zur geplanten Kompoststelle gebracht wird.

Nachdem der steinharte Boden mit Hacken bearbeitet worden war, nahmen die ersten Blumenbeete Gestalt an. Danach wurde die Umgebung gereinigt, sodass die ursprünglichen Ränder der Rasenflächen wieder erkennbar wurden. Nun war es Zeit für eine kurze Pause mit einem Stück Pizza und einer Tasse Tee, bevor die Arbeit mit frischer Energie und neuem Schwung wieder aufgenommen wurde.

Die Kinder waren ebenfalls eifrig bei der Sache mit eigenen Werkzeugen in ihrem eigenen Bereich, einem Sandhaufen, wo sie fröhlich spielten.

Gegen 17.00 Uhr beseitigten wir alle unsere Spuren, verließen den Platz und freuten uns auf den nächsten Sonntag und neue Erlebnisse. Jeder, der sich uns anschließen möchte, ist herzlich willkommen mitzumachen!

Viviendo juntos en el jardín

Equipados con una azada, una pala, tijeras de jardinero, una escoba y guantes protectores, y con la esperanza de producir un cambio positivo en el jardín abandonado, estábamos listos para el segundo proyecto que llevaría el nombre de “Sofía Verde”. Lee sobre nuestro primer proyecto aquí.

Los trabajos comenzaron con la retirada de la basura, donde en media hora se llenaron cinco grandes bolsas. El bello jardín con sus zonas verdes, los pinos y los exuberantes arbustos, no es definitivamente el lugar más adecuado para albergar toda esta basura.

Después entraron en acción la motosierra y el cortacésped. Se cortaron fácilmente ramas y espinos, y los dos grandes montones de desecho forestal crecían rápidamente. No hace falta decir que los desperdicios se trasladaron posteriormente a las futuras plantas de compostaje.

A buen golpe de azada sobre tierra dura, casi de piedra, se trabajaron los primeros lechos de flores. Después se despejó el área que permitió ver el contorno original del césped. Ahora llegó el momento de hacer una breve pausa para tomar un trozo de pizza y una taza de té, antes de reanudar el trabajo con nuevas fuerzas y energía.

Los niños colaboraban con sus propias herramientas en su propio territorio: en una montaña de arena donde disfrutaban jugando.

Sobre las cinco de la tarde recogimos todas nuestras herramientas y abandonamos el lugar, con ganas de que llegase el próximo domingo, y abiertos a nuevas sorpresas. ¡Todos están cordialmente invitados a participar!

Wspólne życie – W zieleni

Wyposażeni w motyki, łopaty, sekatory, miotły, rękawice ochronne oraz w nadzieję i wiarę, że dobre intencje i ludzkie wysiłki wprowadzą pozytywną zmianę w opuszczonym ogrodzie, rozpoczęliśmy drugi projekt o nazwie “Zielona Sofia”, z którego inicjatywą wyszła Gmina Stołeczna.

Naszą pracę rozpoczęliśmy od oczyszczenia terenu i w ciągu zaledwie pół godziny nazbieraliśmy pięć dużych worków śmieci. Piękny ogród z zielonymi trawnikami, sosenkami i bujnymi krzewami zdecydowanie nie jest odpowiednim miejscem na wszystkie te odpady.

Następnie do akcji wkroczyły piła benzynowa i kosiarka. Dzięki nim szybko usunęliśmy niepotrzebne ciernie i gałęzie, zaś dwa stosy leśnych odpadów szybko piętrzyły się w górę. Rozumie się samo przez się, że miejscem ich przeznaczenia miał być przyszły kompostownik.

Wbijana w twardą jak kamień ziemię motyka sprawiła, że pierwsze grządki kwiatowe zaczęły przybierać swój kształt. Następnie uprzątnęliśmy teren, dzięki czemu na powrót pojawiły się zarysy trawników. Nadszedł czas na krótką przerwę z porcją pizzy i filiżanką herbaty, zanim ponownie zabraliśmy się do pracy – z nową dawką energii i siły.

Dzieci też przejawiły zaangażowanie w pracę przy pomocy swoich narzędzi i na własnym skrawku terenu: świadczy o tym obecność piaskownicy, w której tak lubią się bawić.

Była już piąta po południu, gdy zabraliśmy wszystkie nasze rzeczy i opuściliśmy to miejsce, wyczekując kolejnej niedzieli i nowych niespodzianek. Serdecznie zapraszamy wszystkich, którzy zechcieliby się do nas przyłączyć!
