Volunteers of the Know Thyself as Soul Center – Stockholm offer homeless people warm drinks and food packets in a park.
Our third charity event at the Drakenbergs Park in Stockholm took place on a Saturday in November. Although some of the homeless had already left the park, those who stayed appreciated the effort. They recognized us from the previous events and greeted us, always so polite and grateful. We again provided food packets with a choice of coffee or tea.
While at the table, we listened to their stories of hardship. Taking time out to be friendly and provide a listening ear seemed to provide a short break in their hard life.
The experience of doing something useful for the community gave a warm heartfelt feeling.
