United Kingdom, 29 November 2015

After the great success of an uplifting fundraising event in 2014, the Holosophic Society UK (HSUK) partnered once again with Vista, a local charity working with children and adults with sight loss, with the aim to make a positive contribution towards people’s lives in the local community.

‘Music & Dance for Vista’ was organised and hosted by the HSUK at Judgemeadow Community College on Saturday 29 November 2015 and featured a wide range of acts, a very successful raffle and a delicious post-show meal for 300 people.

One of the moving highlights was the Vista music therapy group, ‘Mysterious Melodies’. Co-ordinated by Vista and led by HSUK volunteers who are professional musicians and educators, a group of partially-sighted youngsters and their siblings created a beautiful and textured piece of music that opened the evening on a meaningful note.
The finale featured a high-energy and melodious medley by talented local classical musicians. The trio presented a brilliant combination of Indian classical music. Nupur Arts Dance Academy closed the performances of the evening with a colourful dance number.
An exciting raffle wrapped-up the evening with some great prizes, donated from local businesses and awarded to lucky winners from the audience.
Everyone then had a chance to get together in the food hall to mingle and enjoy delicious hot food, snacks and sweet desserts donated by local businesses and volunteers.

It was a highly enjoyable evening, not only for the audience but also for the performers and all the organisers involved. Thanks to the generosity of the guests and the sponsors of the event, £3,500 could be raised, vital funds that will enable Vista to continue with their music therapy project.
